Not possible to edit comments?

It seems it is not possible to edit comments.
There are legitimate reasons to which to edit out certain parts.
But this is not possible.
Please correct me if I am wrong. -
Which comments, where?
It is not possible for commenters to edit their comments here in the forum or on WP.com blogs. It is possible for a blog owner to edit comments, either by clicking the Edit link on the actual comment in the blog or by going to Comments and clicking on the username, which will then open the Edit window.

As someone with a blog (http://energysmart.wordpress.com), I find that the new structure has now made it impossible for me to edit comments of people posting to my site.
As a “blog owner”, I am no longer getting an option to “edit comment”, I only am getting “approve” / “spam” / “delete” on posts.
I do not require people to register to be able to post comments, thus I don’t have “usernames” to be able to provide a path toward editing.
I have people posting comments that I would like to put in additional information and to take out links to sites that I do not see a reason to be promoting via my blog space before posting them into my blog. At this time, I do not see that path to doing so.
Ideas?
