Not possible to edit html?
-
Hi,
I’m using the freshy theme here at http://linuxd.wordpress.com, and I want to edit the html of the blog to add extra items to the menu that has Home and About.
I don’t seem to find a way to edit it, only the css. Is it not possible?
I wanted to have some categories up there, like Software or Hardware. I think this is more than reasonable.Thx in advance

No, you cannot edit the HTML. We are on a multi-user platform, which means changes to the HMTL would affect all of the blogs using the same thing.
That theme uses tabs for pages, not categories. (BTW – the blog links without the comma is http://linuxd.wordpress.com/ )
You could try the trick of making a page with the category title in it. For example:
<a href="http://linuxd.wordpress.com/category/software/">Software categor</a>
Note that you have to have TWO WORDS in the page name. That might work, but I’m not sure. -
Thank you so much for the fast answer!
Yes the comma was a typo, tried to edit it but didn’t see how to so…
I will investigate your advice, I still haven’t quite understood the concepts used in wordpress, but will dwell in it asap and I’m sure I can manage to find a solution
Thank you so much again! -
it did work, I didn’t find a way to put the about category to the right, but it works just fine the way it is.
Thank you again for the input : -) -
You have an “About” category? Are you sure? There is an “About” page (which you need to complete, by the way). And you misspelled hardware, which is why nothing shows on the harware page.
Also, to make it easier on us in the forums, you should link your user name to your blog. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/how-to-make-your-name-link-to-your-blog?replies=54

@vivianpaige: But note he cleverly worked his way around the two-words restriction: one word plus one space!
