Not receiving a Confirmation EM so I'm unable to create/edit/publish my Blog

I created a new blog earlier this week. I am now attempting to create/edit & publish it. I received a notice on the top or the screen stating that WordPress hasn’t received a response to my EM confirmation. I hadn’t received one after starting my new blog and I haven’t received one since. I have attempted to use the “resend EM confirmation” option several times and nothing comes into my “In” box or my SPAM folder, using Gmail. I have attempted a couple times to change my EM address associated with this blog….it keeps giving me a message that there is a problem, but it doesn’t tell me what the problem is OR how to correct it. I sent myself an EM to this same EM address just to check that the issue isn’t with inbound EM via Gmail, I received the test EM, so please help, what should I try next? Thank you in advance for your assistance.

If you check in your email spam filter and under your “social” tab in your Gmail account please, if you use it https://en.support.wordpress.com/email-notifications/gmail-issues/ and you do not find it then type modlook into the sidebar tags on this thread for Staff help.
