Not receiving comment notification

  I’m a new blogger, so I’m still trying to figure this website out. My friend recently submitted a comment through my ‘contact’ feature. I got the email notification, but I didnt get a notification on wordpress… there doesn’t seem to be any comments to display at all (besides those from other bloggers who have replied to me). Is there a reason for this? I thought it could be my theme, but considering I didn’t get a notification at all, I’m not sure if changing my theme would make much difference.
