What is the domain connected to your email address?
In order to use a Office 365 email address with a site on WordPress.com, the needs to be connected to a custom domain, and your account doesn’t own any custom domain upgrades with us.
If you want to use that email with your WordPress.com site, first upgrade to our Pro plan at Upgrades ->Plans. Then you can use the domain connection upgrade included in the plan to connect your domain to your WordPress.com site:

After you’ve done that and pointed the domain to us, you can then add the DNS records needed for your Office 365 email to work:
