Not receiving email notifications for my blog
-
In the last 2 weeks or so, I no longer receive email notifications for comments and likes of comments posted on my blog. I’ve gone on the admin side and checked all settings.
The blog I need help with is https://blackbutterfly7.wordpress.com
Thanks.

Hi there,
Our logs show several comment notification emails to your address during the past 24 hours.
I also tried liking one of your comments on your post, https://blackbutterfly7.wordpress.com/2019/03/08/international-womens-day/, and our logs immediately showed the email notification for that being sent, so the emails are sending from our end as they should.
If you’re not receiving them, they might be getting blocked or filtered on your email provider’s end, so please contact them directly to ask them to check into that.

I am not receiving notifications for likes, new followers, nor comments to my blog. Since I do receive notifications from those blogs that I follow, I doubt it is a matter where my email provider has blocked email from Word Press.

Hi there,
I checked our email logs and found that a couple of hours ago an email notification for a new follower has been successfully sent. Have you received that notification?

I’ve not received any Word Press notifications for new followers, nor for comments posted to my blog. It is strange because I’m receiving notifications for the blogs and comments that I follow. Is there a way that Word Press can check my email address on the email logs to make sure it’s the same that is on my account? If so, can you take this to email to show me?

The only place we can send you any notifications is to the email address you provided for this account, and you can see that email address in your account settings at https://wordpress.com/me/account/
That’s the email address we’ve been checking, and our logs show we’re sending the emails.
If you’re not receiving them, the problem is on your email provider’s end.
If so, can you take this to email to show me?
I’m not sure what exactly you want us to show you. We cannot share our email logs with you, as those contain information about our email servers and would pose a security risk to everyone using WordPress.com if we let you see them.
We cannot show you the actual emails, as these aren’t emails being composed in an email client and getting saved in a Sent folder once they are sent. These emails are created and sent directly from our servers. We keep a log of the subject of the email and when it was sent, but not a human-readable copy of the email itself.

I’ll check out the email address on my account. Thanks for the link. Regarding my question, I thought that maybe I could be emailed with the email address that you say I’m receiving notifications that I’m not receiving. Thanks for your explanation of what your logs involve, but it really wasn’t necessary. I’ve been with Word Press since 2012 and this is the first time I’ve encountered this problem.

Thanks for clarifying. All of these are going to your account email, but it’s not uncommon these days for email providers to do automatic filtering on emails aside from just regular spam-prevention.
Google started it with their Inbox app that auto-sorted your email to make sure you see what Google decided was the most relevant and important emails. Downside is it causes some emails to bypass the inbox entirely, hiding them in some folder where you won’t find it unless you know to look for it. It’s possible your email provider has implemented something similar, so the emails are there, but they’re hidden behind a filter somewhere.
