Not receiving emails
-
Hi, I’ve switched over to a self-hosted site but the domain name is still registered through WordPress.com, however I’ve changed nameservers.
We are now not receiving emails (but can send out). This is the message the person receives when the mail bounces back:
<(email visible only to moderators and staff)>: host mx01.mailcluster.com.au[101.0.120.34] said: 550
no mailbox by that name is currently available (in reply to RCPT TO
command)and this is what I have in the email settings for my domain:
Email
This domain currently has custom mail servers defined in its DNS settings. This means that WordPress.com Email Forwarding is not available for this domain, and that you should manage your email with your email provider.
The email servers for this domain are:
290e7599e5cbd743858e653316a94e.pamx1.hotmail.com.
Can anyone see why we wouldn’t be receiving emails please.
Thank you.

Hi Anna,
Your domain’s records are all handled by the host where you point your domain’s name servers. The information you entered for your email here at WordPress.com only works as long as your domain is pointed to the WordPress.com name servers.
To get your email working, you’ll need to add the correct records for your email service with your new host (where your domain’s name servers are pointed). It looks like your new host is Digital Pacific, so you can contact their support for more help setting up your email on your domain there.
Please let me know if you have any questions about that. :)
