Not receiving emails when I receive new subscribers

Hello! I recently inserted the ‘subscribe’ button for followers to subscribe by email. I know that I should have at least 2 email followers. However, I never received an email notification when that happened nor has my ’email-only followers’ changed on my stats page. Any pointers? Thanks!

  • Hi there,

    Is this for multiplyinglearning4all.wordpress.com?

I don’t see any recent email subscriptions for that site – there are two pending subscriptions showing in our system, meaning people signed up but still need to confirm the subscription, but both of those show they signed up over four years ago.

The only recent subscription I see on your site is the user, “Multiplying Learning” a week ago.

Do you have the email address of someone that you know signed up to follow your site recently, that should be listed as far as you know?

    Yes it is for multiplyinglearning4all.wordpress.com.

There should be at least two email subscribers. I subscribed because I wanted to see if there was a problem. The other person does not want their email public but the should be showing up as well. I did not get an email notification when either person (myself including) subscribed.

  • You can type the email address in our forum; only staff will be able to see it because it’ll automatically be redacted from public view.

It sounds like perhaps neither of you have clicked the link to confirm your subscriptions. Can you look for that and click the link?

Neither email received a link to confirm subscription.

  • Have you checked your Spam/Junk folders?
We can have a look if the email was sent and delivered but for that, we would need the email address in question. As @supernovia mentioned, you can type it in its own line, it will be redacted for anyone except WordPress.com staff.

The two emails in question are (email visible only to moderators and staff) and (email visible only to moderators and staff). Neither account received a subscription email and junk/spam folders have been checked.

  • Oh, I think there has been a misunderstanding. The subscribe button on your site is a Mailchimp Block, so through that button, your visitors would subscribe to your Mailchimp mailing list, not to your blog through WordPress.com.

For that button to work correctly you will have to make sure it’s connected to your Mailchimp account, here are the details:

    https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/mailchimp-block/

To subscribe your visitors through WordPress.com, you will want to use the block Subscription Form.
