Not receiving "new comments" by email

I don’t have a blog myself, but I do subscribe to several blogs. For about a month now, whenever I post a comment on a blog and check the “notify by email” boxes to receive the responses, they aren’t being sent to me. I have to keep going back to the blog to see if there are any responses to my comment. Any ideas why this isn’t working?

I’m sorry but I don’t know why you aren’t receiving the email updates as a subscriber. Please report this to the blogger who owns that blog so she/he can contact Staff and report this to them.

Thanks…she’s already aware of the problem (it was happening to her too), but we haven’t been able to figure out why. I’m not sure if she’s resolved her end of things, but I’ll write to her and ask,

Yes, I check my spam every day and nothings ever been in there from wordpress or the blogs. It’s just strange that it stopped working. Hopefully it will start working in the future. Should I try unsubscribing to the blog and then re-subscribe?

I realized that I haven’t made comments on the other blogs (different from the link I sent you), so I’m not sure if it’s all of them or just happening from this particular blog. Maybe I’ll comment on another blog and see if the same problem happens.

New issue: The blog I was having issues with is still not emailing me when comments are made when I request replys by email on her daily blog posts, but she also has a “make a comment” button on her site to make comments that don’t have anything to do with her daily posts and I do get the replys to those. Why would I get the emails from that and not from her daily postings that I make comments on?

Would you mind trying to whitelist @wordpress.com in your email client? Some spam filters automatically delete spam perceived of a certain degree, so this should rule-out that possibility.

Ok, I did the “whitelist” @wordpress.com. I had never done that before so I learned something new! Hopefully that will solve the problem. Thanks for your help.

Unfortunately the “whitelisting” didn’t work. I left a comment on one of her new posts and didn’t receive any of the new comments by email. I’m at a loss of what to do. Should I unsubscribe to the post and then re-subscribe? Kind of like a re-set?

Ok…I’m really frustrated. I tried unsubscribing and then re-subscribed to her site. I get email notifications when I make comments on her misc “make a comment” button and on old postings of hers, but I don’t get email notifications of responses when I post comments on her “daily” posts. I don’t know what else to do…

Comment subscriptions are handled on a per-post basis. Did you also subscribe to receive comments via email on the other posts?

Yes, I always check the box to receive the emails. I left comments on another wordpress blog this morning and received emails just fine. It seems to be just the wordpress blog mentioned above “wickedscribes.wordpress.com” that I’m having trouble with.

Ok, now these comment email subscriptions are only for replies to the comments that you post. Are folks replying directly to your comments?
