Not receiving new viewer requests (on gmail) but other admin does (on hotmail)

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi.
Made a private blog, told friends to go to the blog, then follow the instructions, which are (since it’s private):
    1. Make WordPress user.
    2. Press the ‘request’ button on the site.
Then the site admins (i.e. me and my co-admin) should receive a request notification by email and be able to approve.

It turns out that I haven’t received any emails notifications, but by co-admin has. (It doesn’t seem to be in my spam folder either.)
Only two differences I can think of is:
    – she has made a dedicated wordpress account using her hotmail email; I just linked my wordpress account to my gmail account
    – she was the original creator of the blog, while I was added by her afterwards (but also as an admin)

Any thoughts as to why this is happening?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

she was the original creator of the blog

The site owner (the person who registered the site) is the one to receive such requests for access on Private sites. There’s no way to change this setting here so that you also receive those notices, however, your friend might be able to set up her email program to forward a copy of that kind of email to you.

Hope that helps but if you need more information, please let us know.
