Not receiving password reset emails
-
Hi, I am trying to access a blog I set up in 2015 but don’t have the proof of ownership needed. I am certain I have not changed my contact email but none of the password reset emails I am requesting are coming through – what can I do? I have emails showing I own the site in terms of being sent emails when I received comments on posts etc but that won’t help with the account recovery form. Thanks
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You must complete the form for account recovery at this link https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery and submit it to the Account Recovery Staff, and provide proof ownership, so they can contact you by email ie. not on these public support forums, which are available to everyone with internet access.
Note the very bottom Extra Details section on the account recovery form https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery
Support Staff cannot breach the privacy policy and provide the log-in information. You have to provide proof ownership to Account Recovery Staff to gain access https://en.support.wordpress.com/account-recovery/

Hi, thank you but that is exactly my problem – I don’t have the proof you are referring to as I didn’t keep the original email when I set up the account which would be my only way of proving ownership according to your form. Is there nothing else I can do? Have I just list access down to the reset tool not working?

Note the very bottom Extra Details section on the account recovery form https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery
That’s where you can enter the email address(es) you think may be relevant to the account.

Ps my original message referred to the wrong account. It is a different one I am trying to access

We cannot provide accurate answers to any support questions at all unless users provide these two important pieces of information:
The relevant site URL?
Which username account that registered the site?I will type modlook into the sidebar tags on this thread for a Staff follow-up. How do I get a Moderator/Staff reply for my question? https://en.support.wordpress.com/getting-help-in-the-forums/#how-do-i-get-a-moderatorstaff-reply-for-my-question

Hi it won’t let me submit the form as I can’t tick the boxes with the required ownership details- there appears to be no way of contacting wordpress privately without that. Should I just put another url in the form to make it go through?
-
Sorry I don’t understand – do you want me to go to that link now? I can give you the blog url and also my email address though would rather not give you the email publicly?

Companies, groups and/or organizations of any kind do not own blogs.
Every WordPress.COM blog has a sole owner. It is the person with the WordPress.COM username account who registered the blog under that username account and a single associated email address, and who is the original Admin of the blogs registered under that username account.
You have to be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard.
The email address associated with an account can be updated here https://wordpress.com/me/account at any time.
If you are not logged in under the correct WordPress.COM username account then clear your browser cache https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache and cookies https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-wordpress-com-cookies prior to logging into another account
The Admin login link to the dashboard for every blog hosted by wordpress.COM is: http://NAME_OF_BLOG.wordpress.com/wp-admin/
* You will have to replace “name_of_blog” with the actual blog’s name in that URL.
After the blog’s owner logs in clicking this link should display all blogs registered under the same username account, including the hidden ones: https://dashboard.wordpress.com/wp-admin/index.php?page=my-blogs&show=hidden
If the blog’s owner does not see the blog here http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-blogs/ then they need to follow this guide > http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-blogs/#my-blogs-dashboard-visibility
If the log-in information is lost they need to visit https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword
If you do not have the required access you need to contact the person who registered the account and site under it and have them transfer the sites to your username account by using this process. http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#transferring-your-blog-to-another-user-or-account
If you check each and every possible email address and account and are not successfully gaining access to the blog(s) then you must complete the form for account recovery at this link https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery and submit it to the Account Recovery Staff, and provide proof ownership, so they can contact you by email ie. not on these public support forums, which are available to everyone with internet access.

Ok thank you – I read your link and see you have asked staff to contact me. Thank you for your help.
-
Our forum software will automatically redact (hide) any email address entered in the correct format into any thread here. Only Staff can read the redacted email addresses.

I have read everything on how to access my account. I set up and am the only person with access to thoughtsfromahill.wordpress.com however I had to log into my writing group blog to use this forum as you have to be logged into wordpress. The point I am trying to make is I cannot access my thoughtsfromahill blog, I am using the email address I set it up with to reset the password and it isn’t working
It seems wordpress does not have a way of helping me here!

Thank you. Here is my email which i am certain is linked to my blog: (email visible only to moderators and staff)

Hi there,
Our logs show the password reset emails for the account you’re trying to access are being delivered successfully. If you’re not receiving them, the problem is on your email provider’s end.
Please contact them to make sure they aren’t blocking emails from us, and if they have an option to whitelist email addresses, add donotreply[at]wordpress.com to that whitelist – that’s where the reset emails are coming from.
