not receiving pingbacks when someone links to my posts

  I’m not receiving pingbacks when someone (other than me) links to one of my posts. What setting do I need to change to make sure I am notified when someone links to a page on my site? Thanks

  Hi Steve!

  Are you certain that these links are placed on WordPress.com sites? Both sites must be hosted here at WordPress.com.

  If this is the case, could you send me a link to a blog where your post link is displayed? I can research this further.

  Thanks for getting back to me. Here’s one from a WordPress blogger that I never saw show up but found when i was notified that he liked one on my posts

  I do see the links I put in my own posts (kind of annoying). How do I turn those off?

  I’d love to know a way to find out if/when someone links to me from beyond the WordPress world. Is there a way to do that, perhaps with a non WordPress feature?

  Hey Steve!

  Here’s one from a WordPress blogger that I never saw show up but found when i was notified that he liked one on my posts

  The issue in this case is that he has linked back to your homepage, not an individual post. Pingbacks are post-specific. Do you happen to know of any links where another WordPress.com site linked to a specific post?

  I do see the links I put in my own posts (kind of annoying). How do I turn those off?

  Same person reblogged one of my posts here: https://bikelifetoo.wordpress.com/2015/03/17/the-best-online-bike-stores/ and put two links to a specific post of mine on that page. Good problem to have, just want to know when its happening. Others have reblogged my posts but I only found out when they told me in the comments section.

  Hey Steve!

  Thanks so much for this information. I rechecked all your settings (everything looked good).

  I’ve just added a link to your newest post to a test site, and see that you received a notification:

  Let’s see if going forward, you still have this issue. All other users must have pingbacks allowed on their sites/posts as well, for you to receive a notification.
