Not recognizing my account?

  I’m trying to log into my wordpress account from someone else’s blog, so that I can post a response on their blog. When I try to enter my account, it says that there is no account registered under my username. But, I know there is an account because I have activated my account, confirmed my email, and made a blog post that I can access from my blog URL. What is happening – why won’t it recognize my account? Thank you for your help!

  How do you know what the URL is and where the site in question is hosted? WordPress.COM support docs do not apply to WordPress.ORG software installs.
