not safe to edit on my phone
-
I’m not really asking for help, more saying something about the problems I’ve had editing on my Android phone after a recent update. A few months ago there was an update. After it was installed my posts were badly messed up. It took a couple of weeks recoding the html, stripping out rogue code, trying to restore lost picture captions and more. After it was more or less recovered, I stuck to using the laptop. Today, I rashly thought I’d try it on the phone. I made a heading bold. It stripped out all the “a name” internal link html. I was able to restore the previous version. I won’t be editng the on the phone again. Shame – I used to do everything on the phone.

How do I get a Moderator/Staff reply for my question? https://en.support.wordpress.com/getting-help-in-the-forums/#how-do-i-get-a-moderatorstaff-reply-for-my-question

Hi there,
Editing on the phone should not do that, and an update to the app should not mess up any posts, especially if you didn’t actually edit those posts. If you’re willing to help I’d love to try and confirm what causes this, so we can get it fixed.
In the app, go to the profile section and tap on App Settings. What option is selected under Editor Type?
Next, please go to Android’s app settings and delete all stored app data for the WordPress app. This will remove any local drafts on your device, so make sure to back those up if you have any.
Following this, completely uninstall the app, and download it again from the Play store.
Then restart the device itself, log back into the app, and edit a post. Does it still strip out formatting from the post? Please give a link to the post on your site, and also tell me exactly what is getting stripped out. If you want to paste HTML code here in the forums, please use the CODE button above the text box to add it/wrap the code in backticks.
