Not seeing former posts when clicking “Categories”

    Thank you for your help.

I created a blog with 2 posts in 1 category. As I mouseover the category link, it states “View All Posts Under This Category”. When I click it, Ihear something happening but the other posts are not shown or a list of them is not revealed.

Could someone assist? I am new to this service but have some knowledge from Blogger.

    Thank you very much!

You could help by linking to your blog :)

    If this is you:

i think you have set your blog to only display one post at a time. Scroll down to the bottom of the latest post (after clicking on the category), and you will see a link for “Previous entries”

The setting for the number of posts to show on one page at a time is here:
    Options->Reading->Blog Pages

Thank you very much. Sorry for not linking. I didn’t think of that (duh).

I am trying to create a blog where my client can post their press releases. I thought my rss aggregation page would pick up each new post (release) and the categories would provide a rnning link total of former releases.

I noticed the “Previous Entries” but can this functionality not be accomplished with the “Categories” link?

    Thank you!

Increasing the number of posts shown (Options ->Reading->Blog Pages) won’t work b/c my RSS aggregation page would show all the posts, not just the most recent so I need to limit the display to only the most recent (hence the 1 post per page).

    Thank you again!

The number of posts setting is applied to both the Posts being displayed normally and for the posts being displayed within categories.

Nothing appears to have changed for you as your most recent post is within the category. It just looks the same.

Thank you, Mike. So each post (news release) would need to be its own category? Right now, since they are both within the same category, nothing shows? I soft of felt that was the purpose of “categories” but I am sure the disconnect is on my side.

    Thanks!

Ok. I believe the disconnect is in my impression that under the “Categories”, there would be links to the prior releases and viewable one at a time with the settings set to one post per page. But what it does is list all of them at once. Still investigating but thought I’d write

Ahhh, i think i know what you need. You want a page that lists links for all the press releases in a category that would then take you to a page with just the one press release on it, right?

You can do this, but you have to do it manually by making separate pages.

    1. Write a page for a category, and include the links for the press releases in that category.
    2. When you have another category, write another page and include the links for those press releases.
    3. You can then ditch the Categories widget and use the Pages widget instead.

    I hope this makes sense.

Edit: remember that each post already has it’s own page, so to speak. The one for your latest post is http://gatsby8870.wordpress.com/2007/06/05/merrimack-mortgage-co-selects-mortgageflex-loanquest-residential-lending-system/
