Not seeing my tagged posts in searches

Was there a change to the method for displaying tagged posts? Up until about a week ago, I was able to see my posts under a search as tagged, so if I wrote a post on Whiskey, it would show when I searched for Whiskey, it no longer does that. I am wondering if the method for displaying posts changed so that a user doesn’t see his own posts when searching, if so, it should be a lot clearer that the change happen. Thanks.

Do any of those reasons for non-appearance apply to any of your posts? If none apply to none of your posts then go to the sidebar of this thread and type modlook for Staff attention into the tags. Then wait patiently for Staff to assist you.

Some of the reasons apply, but oddly, what I’m tagging is under erotica where the posts aren’t displaying. Also note, I do not have a Privacy Option under Settings.Thank you so much for your answer timethief.

You will not see any mature content in the Reader.
Blogs with legal adult content are not removed, so please do not report these as spam or expect us to suspend them. It doesn’t make much sense for a post with a tag of “Erotica” not to show up under the Reader Topic “Erotica”.
If the rule were in fact the case, then there wouldn’t be any posts listed under any adult tags. A quick tag search on erotica spits out thousands of posts that have been tagged as such, why don’t mine?
I find the question to still be valid. Why are an infinite amount of posts tagged as erotica show up under the reader topic “erotica” while mine don’t? It can’t be that I’m the sole erotica blogger whose posts don’t show up under an adult topic.
I agree with the case of not displaying posts under less relevant tags but, under Erotica itself? It’s quite a stretch to censor Erotica for the Erotica tag itself. If censorship is the case, then perhaps a more detailed explanation on how a post can still be found under a topic specific tag be listed.
I suppose the question is, is there a change in my profile which I’m unaware of, that must be made for “Erotica” posts to show up under “Erotica”? It’s like limiting cheese posts on cheese because some of them might have pictures of wine.

I suppose wordpress is an evangelical nook of the internet. I wonder if anyone at wordpress has even bothered reading the very posts from me being censored to even believe I’ve breached any “rules”.

Yes, it’s been going on for seven years or so.
You are not being punished for breaking (non-existant) rules or censored. Post whatever you like. You are excluded from those searches because WP.com has users as young as 13 and they have to have some protections.
You are NOT being excluded from search engines by WordPress.com. It’s up to them if they want to put you behind a “SafeSearch” wall or whatever. But they mostly do.

It is perfectly permissible, and possible, to write about Erotica instead of writing Erotica. That is what the tag is for.

Aw it is permissible to write ABOUT erotica. I’ve come to evangelicalpress.com, who knew. I’ll have to post about not of the good job wordpress is doing keeping the minds of teens safe. Thanks for telling me your practice blind censorship.
I’m a parent, don’t play me. What is a 13 year old kid doing searching for Erotica, less so, in wordpress? A research project for 8th grade sex ed? ..so they come to wordpress to see what you have to say about Erotica? They then learn that you are America’s moral police. Hoot hoot hoot. Good message to the kids. We blindly censor anything we don’t think you should know about. Now go out there and do the same to anything you find inappropriate.
Have you seen the “freshly published” lately? Oh, the erotic photos found there are art. my bad.
I suppose you know I don’t curse, I don’t use lewd language, I don’t use graphic pictures, I don’t do incest, bestiality, etc, in any of my posts. But you knew that, so wordpress decided to ban me from their tag search because I should be posting ABOUT not writing OF the topic. Help wordpress keep our kids safe you are telling me. OK, nice. I hope you limit guns, too. Because those kill people, especially them military type of weapons. Those we can’t have either, I’ll help you censor them, too. Our kids will be safer. Then well do knives, they can kill, too.
What’s next? Censoring evolution because you have Bible Belt readers who need some protections? Censoring whiskey because your readership is composed of pregnant mothers who need protection? Scottish readers who find the “E” in whiskey a pollution of their product? Because those 13 year olds shouldn’t know that alcohol is out there but not to be consumed, oh, say, until 21? Thank you for helping ignorance grow.

You aren’t protecting anyone. You are using it as an excuse to censor a specific type of voice without bothering to learn about what you are censoring. You are cutting freedom of speech, nothing more.
There are far more clever methods to restrict searches to the correct demographics. Use one of them… being that you know the age of your members, it wouldn’t be much of an issue to adopt better methods…
Search engines don’t block me, you do. What’s the use of being in a community when the community “leaders” don’t want you there. I’m ashamed to have financially supported you.

You are so far off base when it comes to your projections about raincoaster and her language and pinions that you are in outer space.
I strongly suggest that you email support @ wordpress dot com and take you case up with Staff rather than projecting in forum threads and ragging on Volunteers.

I did as you’ve suggested some time back. It was a pickle finding a support email. No answer as of yet. Not that they’ll do anything reading from all censored blogs in wordpress.
I don’t know who is and isn’t a volunteer. All I knew was that I pressed support and was sent here, no other form of contact was provided.
I assure you had I known about the volunteers, the response would have been vastly different. You, being the first line of defense will unfortunately get the intial heat. My apologies to raincoaster and any other volunteer who made efforts to support me and were welcomed by my moodiness. I’m sorry.

That’s good news. As you have contacted Staff by email this thread is not required and will be closed.
P.S. I understand what you mean about not know who is who on this peer support forum. Staff have silver colored backgrounds behind their usernames and either “Staff” or “Happiness Engineer” under them. raincoaster and I are the longest serving Volunteers (over 7 years and counting) and not to worry as we very thick skin.
