Not seeing some followers and transferring stats
-
I just transitioned from wordpress.com to wordpress.org. I wanted to see if I could transfer my states (views, etc.) to the wordpress.org page. Currently I can see both graphs separately, but they are not together.
Also, since the transition I am not seeing my new followers. I did migrate my old followers, and also did a site redirect. It is just the new followers that have joined since the transition that I am not seeing. I am just receiving email confirmation that they are following my page.
Thank you!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I’ve merged your site stats so you should be set on that front.

I’m not sure why that is happening. I’ve moved the new followers over to the new site for now and will investigate and get back to you with a long term solution.

Still looking into this. I subscribed to your site using the the “Follow by e-mail” widget in your footer. That subscription seemed to go to your new site as expected.
All of the followers that are ending up connected to the old site are following with their WordPress.com accounts.
Do you have any other follow widgets (either on this site, or the old one) that were specific to WordPress.com?
I don’t see any, but I thought I’d check with you.

I figured out the problem :)
Your old site is still active in the reader, so that’s where those followers are coming from. We have two options.
- make your old WordPress.com site private. This will keep it from appearing in the reader so you won’t catch those subscribers by accident.
- periodically move people who find you through the reader over to the new site.
Since you are no longer posting to the old site, the number of new readers who come in this way will decrease over time.
Let me know which way you want to go, and that’s what we’ll do :)

I am still seeing followers in two different places. I see my WordPress followers on the main followers list, but then I have to go to View All to see the WordPress followers that joined today. Very strange. Thanks for your help.

Right. That’s because the new WordPress followers are joining from the WordPress.com reader, not directly from your site. I’ve migrated the new ones over again today.
If you want to prevent people from discovering your old site via the WordPress.com reader, you can set the old site to private. Here’s a direct link to the page where you can make that change.

Site visibility is the 5th option from the top.
Let me know if you need anything else!

Ok, I have changed my old site to private. Now that I have done that, will the site redirect still work? I noticed on Bloglovin’ that they’ve indexed my old site instead of my new one. I don’t want people to not be redirected to to the new site because they are no longer able to access the old site.
Seriously, thanks for all your help!

Absolutely. You can check for yourself by trying the old address:

I noticed on Bloglovin’ that they’ve indexed my old site instead of my new one.
Could you send me a link to your Bloglovin’ page? I’ll investigate that a bit further.
Also, just FYI, now that your site is connected to Bloglovin’ you can delete the post they made you do :)

Haha! Thanks for that FYI! :-)

So the problem is your new site and your old site are both in Bloglovin. the old one is here:
https://www.bloglovin.com/blogs/this-abundant-life-13703219
The new one is here: https://www.bloglovin.com/blogs/this-abundant-life-13732263
Ultimately it doesn’t matter because everything is being redirected, but if you don’t want to confuse people you might remove the older one.

Ack!!! It’s me again! I am going to have to get you a Christmas present after all this!
I just clicked on the three dots next to the referrer name on my stats page. The Nester now is faded out and it says “not spam” next to it. What did I do???? She is my biggest referral source right now and I am really hoping I did not block her as spam!
Help!

any idea on how to do that?
I guess I should have checked the support documents at Bloglovin’ before I made my suggestion, it looks like they don’t remove feeds once they’ve been added:
http://help.bloglovin.com/knowledgebase/articles/214430-can-i-remove-my-blog-from-bloglovinI just clicked on the three dots next to the referrer name on my stats page. The Nester now is faded out and it says “not spam” next to it.
Did you click on “Not Spam”? If so that puts everything back and there is nothing to worry about. If you didn’t click the “not spam” link, and you aren’t seeing referrals from her now, let me know. I can have our developers fix this for you.
In the meantime, it will make you feel better to know that traffic from her site is still getting through to you, you just aren’t seeing it reported on your stats; so no lasting harm was done either way.

I tried clicking “not spam” but the whole thing was faded out and wouldn’t let me click it. Would you mind asking the developers to fix it for me? Thanks so much!!!

Ok, me again…I changed my old wordpress.com site to private briefly, but it seemed to really cause a dip in my visitors. Since then, I changed it back and people are being redirected to the wordpress.org site.
I have quite a few new subscribers on the wordpress.com, are you able to move those over for me again?
Also, I had a reader tell me she was no longer to see me in the wordpress.com reader app. Do you know why?
Thanks!
