not showing full blog post – requests to read full entry

    Hi, I’ve just updated my blog and for some reason it doesn’t show the full post with all the images. I now have to click on ‘read the rest of this entry’ to view it.

    What have I done wrong or has something changed recently and haven’t got the updates?

    Did you change themes? In the final analysis the theme you are currently using called Garland does not automatically insert “the more tag”. We have to manually insert that tag into posts to create excerpts on the front page. In order to have the full articles display you have to edit the posts in question, switch to the HTML editor and remove this code

    from them and then click “Update”.

    Setting that issue aside I see that you do not comprehend that the rules of thumb for assigning categories and/or tags to any post are:
    less is more or use as few relevant categories and tags as possible.

    On your most recent post I see these: Posted in Brisbane Children Photographer, Brisbane Photographer, Children, Family, Family Photographer, Family Photography, Ipswich & Brisbane Photographer, Ipswich Children Photographer, Ipswich Photographer, Ipswich Wedding Photographer, Ipswich Wedding Photography, Maternity, Newborn, Wedding Photography, Weddings, miscellaneous. Tags: Family, Children, tree, ipswich, photography, QLD, winter, cold, Kylie, Eather, 4 wheel driving, bushwalk, bush.

    Setting aside relevancy the total number of categories/tags assinged is fare too many. That’s the kind of tagging overkill that’s referred to as spamdexing. and It has bad consequences. See here “missing posts” here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/global-tags/#missing-posts

    My best advice is to know this. If your article were being cataloged by a librarian he or she would not exceed a combined total of 10 categories/tags for it.
