not showing up in google..

    I expect my blog posts to take a while, and also – any advice with those showing up in google results?

    The main thing I want now is, when somebody searches for my name (jeremiah twidwell) in google, I want this blog to show up. It’s been a month and it hasn’t – does that take that much time or do i need to do something differnet?

    Any advice? There is a ton of advice: over a thousand tips in the forum. Just look in the sidebar tag cloud for “hits” and “google” and related terms, or use the forum search.

    ok for that part, but again, why doesn’t this at least show up when i google my name? should be in the url and everything.. thanks for the reply,

    Jeremy, you have two posts, one on July 14th and one on the 29th. It can take up to 6 weeks for Google to index new sites, and then it can take more time for them to determine exactly where to place you within searches. Google has you, and at some point they will tie in your name and you will start showing up by name. To gain enough page rank for a site to start showing up higher in searches, it can take up to a year – or more depending on the popularity of your site.

    The big thing is to post and post regularly, and in the beginning, try to post every few days at least, and make it original content. The more new stuff you put up, the more attention the search engines are going to pay you. And until you have a page rank of at least 2/10, you might not show up by name in searches.

    thanks, fellas – this answers all my questions. as for my blog not showing up in google results when i google myself, i’ll just give it time. Thanks again for all the information.

    You’re very welcome. Google will pick you up and link you to your blog. I’d give it a couple months. Three at most, and just keep posting.
