Not sure how to transfer domain after cancelling

  Hi, I cancelled my domain (sharkeysabode.ca) in hopes that I would be able to just buy the domain elsewhere (Shopify), mostly because I was not able to map the domain to Shopify’s services. However it seems that after cancelling, the domain is parked and unable to buy elsewhere. Is there a way to transfer?

  Hi there,
  It should take minimum 5-7 days to re-purchase the domain from the date of cancelling domain name.

  There’s always a possibility the domain would become available again once it’s cancelled, so we’d always recommend not cancelling the domain and instead using custom DNS https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/custom-dns/ to point to a new hosting provider, or transferring the domain https://en.support.wordpress.com/incoming-domain-transfer/ when the 60 Day Transfer lock is lifted.

  With that in mind, would you like us to restore the domain, so that it can be used with Shopify?

  In that case, yes, I think restoring the domain would be best so that it can then be used with Shopify.

  Hi there,

  Thanks for confirming. The domain sharkeysabode.ca has been restored to your account and you can confirm here: https://wordpress.com/domains/manage/

  If you wish, you can connect the domain to your Shopify site immediately by following the steps they recommend here.

  Essentially they will give you settings to add to your domain on this end to make the connection. Once you know your settings you can let us know and we’re happy to help you add them correctly.
