not sure what better – current host vs wordpress hosting

I’m having issues with trying to determine which direction would make sense for me and my very small business. Currently, I have a domain and it’s registered with another company (like Go Daddy) and I’m trying to look at all costs associated with building a website with WordPress.

If I stay with my current host – I’ll have monthly charges by them and also monthly charges at WordPress. Plus, I’ll have hosting costs as well. This is getting to be quite costly. But I cannot ascertain that it would be cost advantageous to be with WordPress (hosting and website). Also, I cannot see any themes to help me determine if you would have what I need for my business.

As you can tell – this is all very frustrating and not very transparent.

  • Hi there!

If you build your site here, on WordPress.com all that you’ll pay will be the cost of your WordPress.com plan and domain at GoDaddy (but you can also transfer the domain here and have everything in one place).
Your plan here includes hosting, you do not need to purchase it anywhere else.

As for the theme, if you decide to get plan Business, you would be able to upload any WordPress compatible theme, you won’t be limited to use the ones in our library.

You can read more about our themes here:

    https://wordpress.com/support/plan-features/

And check the prices from here:

Bear in mind that all subscriptions are charged annually, so there are no monthly payments.

Let me know if you have any more questions regarding that.
