    http://www.sotsil.wordpress.com
    hello there,
    i recently changed to “rounded” theme and my tag line is way too microscopic. you can hardly read it! is there a way to increase the font size without buying the css upgrade. i know i’m being the grand “el cheapo” but i don,t want to buy it because i have no css skills to begin with.
    would someone who’s feeling generous help me increase the size of the font in my tag line? i’d be grateful. if you can give me the code, please do a step by step, like you’re talking to a moron. at times, i do feel like one.
    thanks heaps.

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi sotsil,

    Just to clarify, are you asking about the small light green line under the title of each post:
    “Filed under: Recipes — sotsil @ 7:06 pm
    Tags: budget meal, carrots, mushrooms, plain jane type of meal, zucchini”

    Do you know that those category/tag links go to the global tags of WordPress.com and not to your own posts on your blog?

    That is not bad: the global links are what help readers find your blog because they are interested in the topics you blog about?
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/global-tags/

    Your tag cloud with large-enough type directs your readers to posts on your own blog.

    Any way, if you don’t buy the CSS upgrade, have knowledge about CSS programming, and have time to fiddle with it, then you really can’t do much about the small little type.

    Hello again. I’m following up your earlier thread on changing to the Rounded theme here https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/changing-themes-5?replies=10

    The Rounded theme has not been coded to provide for a tagline to be displayed. I just confirmed that on my test blog. We cannot access let alone edit the underlying templates for our themes. That means the only way you can add a tagline is by placing your tagline text in a text widget and placing it at the top of the sidebar.

    GAK!!!

    As soon as I hit “submit” on the comment above, I realized that you are obviously asking about your tagline. NOT TAGS.

    sorry for the confusion!

    At any rate, you would need the paid CSS + expertise to change that.

    If I can’t act like an idiot sometimes, then where is the fun?? Sorry again.

    timethief,
    “Rounded” does have a tagline.

    ???

    @Tess
    Ahhh … this is a case of semantics. The word “tagline” is a reference to a sub-title, but sotsil is using that word to describe the categories/tagd assigned to the posts. Good catch! :)

    @sotsil
    The correct URL for your blog is this http://sotsil.wordpress.com/ That URL does not contain “www”. No wordpress.com blogs contain “www” in their URLs.

    @Tess
    I have already discussed the font size issue and color issues and alternatives with sotsil the other thread. I also explained that all of us can increase or decrease the size of any font on any webpage in our browsers. http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2010/01/19/how-to-change-font-text-size-in-your-browser/

    Timethief,
    You are talking about https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/changing-themes-5?replies=10 which I have not seen until now.

    Apparently there are 3 different disscussions from sotsil

  • Unknown's avatar

    Oh dear, i’ve caused some confusion. So very sorry. The tag line I was talking about was: “I was eating out of cans but I learned to use my oven…finally.”
    Basically, I was looking for a freebie. But that’s the cheapo in me. i’ll see if I can dedicate some time to learning CSS.
    cheers. and sorry, sorry, 1tess and timethief.

  • Unknown's avatar

    sotsil,

    No worries. Timethief and I are good friends. Confusion is what it is

    If the only thing you want is to make your tagline “I was eating out of cans but I learned to use my oven…finally.” more prominent, then you might just put it into a text widget in your sidebar, or make it a sticky post at the top of your dynamic home page.

    Hey, I’m the queen cheapo. There is nothing wrong with that: we are actually smarter than the average by getting things at a bargain!

  • Unknown's avatar

    @sotstil
    The reason the Rounded theme on my test blog did not display the taglien like yours does display “”I was eating out of cans but I learned to use my oven…finally.” was because I had so many static Pages above it. I have now tried it on a test blog that has no static Pages and it’s appearing … whew! I’m so sorry I was wrong about that and apologize. But be warned that if you create a lot of static pages it will no longer display.

    You may learn CSS if that’s what you want to do but I must be far more thrifty than you are. there’s no way I will spend $15. every year to increase font size.

    I wish you all the best with your blog. Sorry for the confusion. :)

  • Unknown's avatar

    timethief,
    off topic here, but do you have advice on how to do care and feeding of test blogs?
    LOL. Mine have gotten clogged up often enough to know that they have become too touchy to test with!
    email if you like~~~Tess

  • Unknown's avatar

    @Tess
    I know what you mean. I put the Rounded theme op on the test blog with all the tips, tweaks, workarounds, and important links in it. It has LOTS of static pages. Frankly, it’s a mess but I have public blogs that are starving — so the test blogs will have to wait. lol :D

    Thanks so much 1tess and timethief. glad to know you’re good friends. i didn’t want to break a solid union, today being valentine’s. ha-ha.
    good idea 1tess. i will now go search for a sticky or do a text widget, brilliant! i like rounded – was debating between rounded and motion – motion is very nice – large fonts and all. next time i think of changing, i’ll go for motion (unless something better comes up).
    i sure envy your wordpress knowledge, both of you. you’re doin’ a great, great job. i’ll try not to wake up dogs or go bargain-hunting too often. thanks again for your help. and i do apologise. hope you won’t hear from me for another 2 months.
    cheers

    You are welcome.
    Don’t hesitate if you have another question.!

    @sotsil
