'Not valid email address' for a potential subscriber

  Someone is attempting to subscribe to my blog but their email address is being labeled ‘not valid’. Help?

  They live in South Africa, he’s an old friend and colleague. His address is (email visible only to moderators and staff)

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi Joel,

  Your friend may have had a leading or trailing space or an invalid character which was causing a problem. I was just able to request that email address be added via the front of your site without any issue. They will be sent an email asking that they confirm that they want to follow the site, and if they do they can click a link and will be sent an email notification any time you publish a post.
