To add a tagline

edit your articles from

and click on the — at the second line, 3rd position from the left
or go to the html editor and type <hline> -
@hazysojourn From what I remember, Affinity, the theme you are using, doesn’t display the tagline in a standard way.
Here’s what it says from the Theme’s Showcase page:
Site Tagline
The site tagline is a great place to put a quote or a brief welcome to your site. It will appear on the front page, blog, and archives over your Custom Header image. If no Custom Header is active, the Site Tagline is hidden.And I see you are using a Custom Header. If your tagline is “Mellow doesn’t always make for a good story, but it makes for a good life” and you want it appear as your tagline, you need to enter that sentence in the Site Identity section of your site’s Customizer. https://en.support.wordpress.com/customizer/
