Nothing Is Showing When I Select A Theme

It appears that I have done something that prevents any graphics at all from showing. I need help in changing this so that I can use themes again.

How have you tried to put graphics in the blog? Have you uploaded a custom header? Have you put images in posts?

I had used a free template as a graphic for several years and had a headline associated with it. I was attempting to make changes when the graphic (I think it was called ocean mist) went black. I was successful in removing the headline and that is fine, as I wished to do so. However, I cannot understand what happened to the template!
