Nothing works…

Hello,
I’m a simple user of WordPress blogs and my technical knowledege is very poor.
1) When I try to change some settings ( date format, default e-mail address, … ), nothing is taken into account after saving the new configuration.
2) When I try to link a YouTube video, nothing happens when I click on “send to the editor “.
3) The support has plenty of infos regarding addition of plug-ins, new features and even updates of WP. But installation instructions are for experts, so I have no idea how to load a plug-in to a server ( which server ??? ), etc…
Well, I can manage my blog quite nicely but the rest is a bit kind of chinese to me…
Thanks for any help or advice.

Sounds like you are not blogging at wordpress.com. If not, please head over to the forums at wordpress.org for support. We are using a different platform (WordPress MU) and cannot help. -

Actually I believe the posted is located here. I would suggest checking the username as a blog URL as you can quickly tell if they’re probably here or not.
1) Date format is occasionally hard coded into the theme and may not be selectable. With a change in email address, you’re sent an email to confirm the change. Until you confirm the change, it remains the old address.
2) You don’t Send to Editor on Youtube videos. The procedure is located here.
3) Ignore all that as it pretains to regular wordpress, not the version we have hosted here at wp.com. You may want to review the “Please Read Me First Before Posting” sticky as it explains a bit more on the different versions of wordpress.
