Notice to readers

  Can I set up a notice to readers while I change my blog’s theme? I’d like them to see a notice something like: “I am in the process of reorganizing this site. Check back soon.”, rather than seeing a messy site under construction while I get things organized. Is the possible?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi Dena,

  Unfortunately, not really. I’ve given this some thought and the best suggestion I have at the moment is if you create a new Page, and configure your blog to show that as the front page of your site (instructions here). On this new page, you could write your “I am reorganising my site” message.

  After you’ve finished tweaking your new theme, you can change the setting back, and delete the page.

  Thank you, this is a good idea for now. I will use your suggestion.

  It would be great if ‘some-day’ WordPress.com would create a way to have that message as a setting. I know it is available via WordPress.org, so it can be done…..
