Notification emails coming in from the wrong address

    Since I started using my laptop, running Ubuntu 11.10, I’m receiving notifications for new posts from WordPress subscribers with the wrong email address in the “from” field of the email. I’m using Thunderbird as my email client. When I go in and correct the “from” field with the right address, all the other notification emails’ “from” fields change to the new address, regardless of who it came from. I’ve look through forums, posts, etc. but every solution involves the installation of a plugin, or some sort of coding, which I cannot do, because my current WP subscription does not allow me to install plugins. HELP!!!
