Regarding non-WordPress people following my blog (I’m using “Pages” only)
When I up-date a blog page, my follower (I’m using my husbands e-mail only while we are working the bugs out) receives a notification to sign up again, along with several pages that were not up-dated.

I’m using “Pages” only
There is no RSS Feed for Pages. http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/ Pages sit outside the blog structure and are meant to be used only for content that changes. http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/
There is only one main page for posts in a blog and all posts will display on the main blog page. There is no way to exclude posts from the main posts (blog) page. The front page of the blog by default will display your posts (not pages) in reverse chronological order, with the most recently published post on top.
A WordPress blog can either be structured as a page based website or its conventional post based structure can be retained. That’s why understanding the differences between posts and pages, comprehending the SEO implications of creating a page based structure, and knowing how to use custom menus are key to decision making when selecting a theme, and setting up your WordPress.com blog.
http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2010/05/12/better-blogging-at-wordpress-com-pages-and-posts/Though there is only one dynamic page in a blog for posts and we cannot post to more than that one page, we can create the appearance that we have posted to more than one page. We organize posts by assigning categories to them. You can either put the categories widget into the sidebar, or you can create a custom menu and add the categories into the custom menu.
