Notification indicator busted

The notifications indicator for my blog hasn’t been working lately. It no longer shows numbers as it used to, even when I have new comments to my blog posts. It also has begun repeating notifications from much earlier posts.

The numbers have been removed and it now shows just the orange color to indicate you have notifications, but it seems broken at the moment and I cannot even get it to drop down and show me the notifications.
