Notification of comments keeps appearing

  In my dashboard, to the far right, beside “New Post” is a number that appears when I have notifications. For example, a visitor liked my post. A number of “1” appeared. I clicked on it and later on, the 1 still appeared. I would normally reply if it was a comment, but I can’t reply to a “like.” Why does the number still show?

  Thanks, I read both links, but still unsure why after I’ve viewed a comment, the number still appears?
