Notification of deleted posts

    I want to delete a couple of old placeholder posts I added to my blog when I set it up. I have a number of followers, and they get notified of new posts, but will they be notified when I delete these old posts?

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    No. Notifications are only sent out on new posts, not changes to old ones, including deleting them.

    What will happen is that anyone coming in through an external link, like search engine returns or even pingbacks from within your own site, will land on a 404 page.

    No, whenever you delete posts from your WordPress blog, your followers won’t receive a notification about the deletion. Notifications are only meant to give update about the latest uploaded posts or existing one. So, your deletion of old placeholder posts will not notify your followers
