Notifications area on a Apple will not suppress

I am having the same issue as a previous member (https://wordpress.com/forums/topic/suppress-notifications/). The bell icon is inoperative. I have unchecked all notifications in settings, and cleared the cache. I do not experience this problem on my PC, but do experience it on my iPad.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

iPadOS 15.8.1, I typically use Safari, which is kept up to date with the os updates.

As noted, I downloaded Chrome just to see if it made a difference (it didn’t).

Note also, that since posting I also downloaded the WP app on my iPad. Even though I continue to edit with the browser the problem with the notifications went away immediately after installing the app. Weird! The “bell” icon is now operative and I can display or suppress the notifications.

That is weird! I’m not entirely sure how the app would have made a difference, but I’m glad it’s working now!

Let us know if it stops working again and we’ll be happy to dig into this further. :)
