Notifications button dropdown doesn't work

I read the following when trying to find what was wrong with my ‘bell’ notification button: ‘Clicking on Notifications will open a dropdown that displays your latest notifications, including recent likes and comments’ but this doesn’t happen. I have two accounts where this is a problem and I can’t respond to likes or comments (cos I cant’ see them – no dropdown at all), and one (as a member) where it works as expected. Have I done something to stop it working? The two sites are: cagedunn.wordpress.com and 5bayby14u.wordpress.com.
Can you (anybody!) help? Please and thanks.

I have this same problem…if you get an answer, please let me know. I thought maybe it was a browser compatibility problem, but I’m still not sure!

There is a workaround – log into your main page, then ‘open/click on’ your full page address to open it in a different tab.
You then have two tabs, one with the non-working drop-down, and the other (the ‘normal’ side that readers see) will have a bar at the top with the bell button – that works!
I’d still prefer to find a solution to the situation – it’s annoying to have two instances open just so I can see what I should be able to see with the one instance.

Thanks timethief – your suggestion to use another browser appeared to fix the problem ‘cos I could use the bell drop-down for those two sites that previously had a problem.
But there is a third site I use which didn’t have a problem with that browser (and I don’t like the idea of changing browsers without fully understanding the why of it), so surely it can’t all be down to just the browser?
At least now I can respond and be courteous to the people who respond to my sites.

I’m happy I was able to provide some assistance. If you need more post the URL of this third site here.
