Notifications Coming Up Blank

When I go to my notifications to read them I can’t because it’s totally blank. I have tried 2 web browsers, Internet Explorer and Microsoft edge.
Why is this happening? This happens on both WELCOME TO CRYSTAL’S SITE(ORIGINALLY COUNTRY LIVING) and CRYSTAL’S PHOTO-BLOGGING SITE . I need some help.The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You have either a browser issue or a connectivity issue.

I have a brand new computer(Lenovo). I have Internet Explorer 11.0, running Windows Windows NT 10.0, I have JavaScript enabled, Flash Version is 27.0.-1, Cookies enabled and the User Agents are Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; WOW64; Trident/7.0; LCTE; rv:11.0) like Gecko. Now I will tell you, I did a restart/refresh and that helped somewhat but not 100%. What I mean is that most of the notifications came back.
I have to ask, would there be any reason that a notification would not show up at all before being read, after being read or show if I’m following that blog or not. Also, would there be a reason that it didn’t show blog name and/or e-mail When the blog hasn’t been deleted. -
@daisymae2017 We can troubleshoot this if you’d like. First step: does this same problem happen in Chrome?
Are you using any special security settings?

I don’t know. The people at the place set things up. What security settings are you referring to? How do I check my security settings? Don’t have Chrome anymore since I got a new computer. Because I’m using Internet Explorer as my web browser so I have protected mode enabled. anything else I’m not sure.

@daisymae2017 can you start by installing chrome and seeing if it works differently? It’s probably your settings in Internet Explorer and trying a different browser is a good way to test.

Sorry to take so long to reply but some unexpected things came up. The motherboard on my other computer and had to get a new computer. Is it possible that there is a way that a person’s blog and/or e-mail won’t show and it will show just white? No name either. I have it on protected mode would that do it? Have a good day and Halloween.

Nope, it sounds like a bug. But if we can find out whether it’s happening in another browser that will help us know how to troubleshoot.
Please update this thread when you have installed Chrome and tested there. Thanks!

What are the version numbers of the browsers you use please?

(a) Exactly what kind of device you are using to connect to the internet and to WordPress.com.
(b) Exactly which browser (and version of it) you’re using by checking here if necessary http://supportdetails.com/ -
Since IE and Edge are both by the same brand (and thus could both be affected by the same Windows settings) I’d recommend a different browser for testing, like Chrome or Firefox. Specific numbers of versions are helpful, too.

supernovia, If it’s OK with you I’d like to wait until it happens again since it only happened to a few of the notifications and not all. I can read most of my notifications now so we’ll see what happens. Just don’t close this thread please.

What you’re experiencing sounds like a browser bug. Although WordPress is cross-browser platform, sometimes browsers have conflicts or bugs with the sites.
To know if it’s really a browser problem or it’s something of WordPress you have to try to read your notifications at least in IE (or Edge, is the same), Firefox and Chrome.You’re still having this issue. A little better (you can see some notification now), but it’s still there.
Install those browsers and check your site. That would be really helpful to see what’s your problem. You can uninstall them whenever you want :)

Also @daisymae2017, it seems you’ve had some connection issues in the past, too, where content didn’t load at first. That could also be a factor. Again, if you’ll install Chrome now and test it if or when this happens again, that will help us determine the problem.

supernovia, Sorry it’s taken me so long to reply. I just downloaded Chrome and made it my default browser. Will see what happens.

supernovia, I know this is a separate issue and if you want me to start another thread I will but when I go to share through WordPress(not reblog), I get an error it says this bookmark has deprecated please remove it. How do I fix or remove this and what does this mean? I installed, uninstalled, re-installed chrome that doesn’t seem to be the problem. I’m at a loss what to do. I can’t share through WordPress anymore. Let me be clear, it’s that + sign that stands for more. Just tried it out it works but only at certain times. Got notifications back for now.

And @daisymae2017 we definitely do prefer a new topic for each issue, each with a proper title. That way if someone else is searching for the same thing, they can easily find it and not get lost in off-topic comments.
