Notifications don’t open up

I can’t open my notifications without first going into my followed sites. It’s just bizarre! I click on the icon with the bell and the orange dot, and an empty drop box appears. Even if I wait, nothing happens – just the ourobouros thing goes round and round, but no messages appear. I have to click on ‘Followed Sites’ – and THEN I can click on the notifications icon and the dropbox will be populated with my incoming messages, likes, follows, etc. Please advise how to fix this – it’s annoying!

  • Hi –

The notification drop box under the bell should be filled with the notifications. There might be an issue with the browser. Can you try clearing the browser cache to see if it fixes this behavior?

Liz, thanks for the prompt response. Sorry it’s taken me so long to get back to you; I’ve been a bit swamped.

I’ve cleared my browser cache and it doesn’t make any difference. On my laptop, the only way I can open my notifications is first to click on my Followed Sites. Then if I click on the icon, the drop box is fully populated. But if I click on the icon while I’m anywhere else – eg looking at the page, or looking at stats – nothing happens. The empty drop box appears with the ouroboros going round and round, and nothing happens. It’s really bizarre, and frustrating!

  • How frustrating! What browser and version number are you using? Does a different browser work any better?

I’m using Chrome… Does that usually give problems? I can try something different. Do you have any suggestions? I’ll try pretty much anything except Explorer.

Not sure how to determine the version number. Assumed it updated automatically.

  • Could you give Firefox a try and let us know what happens?

Problem solved. Firefox works fine – thank you!
