Notifications icon not working to alert me of likes, follows, etc.

  Yesterday I noticed that the notification icon is not lighting up when a new like, comment or follower has occurred. I use internet explorer and Mozilla foxfire, I checked the icon is not working on both.

  I saw a forum question by a member yesterday and they mentioned that Internet Explorer security they had to enable Downloaded Font. I went into and mine is enabled.

  I also noticed that when I open Notifications, it has changed how you apply action to an item – there is now a drop down menu. So in the process of WP changing this item, could something have happened to the icon for notifications no lighting up any longer?

  Having the same issue, and like the previous commenter this began at the same time as WP made changes. Can it please be fixed quickly?

  It must be a WordPress issue because it is also happening(or not happening as the case is) to me.

  Hi, mine worked for one notification after I wrote this note then stopped.

  I went in and cleared by cache, as you suggested and it has not resolved the problem – with either internet explorer or foxfire.

  Problem remains unresolved. Thanks

  Sorry for any confusion. This issue is still pending, and our developers are working on a fix for it. It’s the other issue with the Reader you posted about in this support thread that should be fixed now:

  Hi Rachel, thanks yes the Reader is working as it should now.

  Still pending the developers fix for the notification icon.

  Hi Mary,

  Our developers fixed up this issue with the notification icon, so it should be working normally again. Like with the other issue, if it still isn’t working for you, you may need to refresh your browser or clear your browser’s cache.

  Please let me know if I can do anything more to help with that. :)
