Notifications not sent on scheduled posts

    Notifications not sent on scheduled posts while straight posts do trigger notifications to Followers.
    This issue has started about one week-end ago.
    Scheduled bug? Please help Beauce all posts are scheduled.

    Hello there,
    Note scheduled post publication is triggered the first visitor clicking into your blog after your post was scheduled. It will still state that it was posted on the time and date that you specified, but it will not actually go up until someone visits your site and triggers publication. http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/schedule-a-post/

    Thanks for the reply.
    So if I understand:
    – immediate publishing trigger immediate notifications to followers;
    – scheduled publishing DOES NOT trigger immediate notifications to followers after publication; notifications triggering must wait for the first visitor to read the post.
    Logic would actually process BOTH scheduled AND immediated published posts the same way: either by triggering notifications (as very recently), or by NOT triggering.
    What is the rationale to differentiate between the two??

    Yes and I believe this is due to the way the software operates as opposed to a policy decision. I’ll tag this thread for a Staff response. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

    My posts are not scheduled i.e. I create a new post and publish it each morning, however, I am not receiving a notification, and have not done so for a few days

    Hi Bibif,

    I’m sorry for the trouble you’re having with notifications. If I understand correctly, your followers aren’t receiving notifications at all when the new scheduled posts are published.

    Could you send me a link to a post that didn’t send a notification email, as well as one or more email addresses that didn’t receive the email? That will help me investigate the issue on this end. (You can post the email addresses in a reply here, and our forum software will hide them from everyone except staff.)

    Hi Rachel,
    Notifications on scheduled posts seem to work again. Please confirm.

    FYI, after I noticed the issue about one week ago, I had to copy already sent scheduled posts, and republish them immediately, which correctly triggered notifications.

    Here is a scheduled post which DID NOT trigger notifications:

    Followers who did not receive notifications: (email visible only to moderators and staff) and (email visible only to moderators and staff)

    Thanks for sending those details. I’m glad the notifications are working on your posts again. I’m not sure why those emails weren’t going out before, but if it happens again please let us know and we can investigate that further.
