notifications not showing in the last few days

  Hi, My notification box was working after my last blog a few days ago.
  I saw 1 like and the box turned yellow.
  After that I only saw in site stats that I have a new follow. The notification box never turned yellow. I have another like on my last blog which I cannot see on the post or no notification again turning yellow. The blog just says I have 2 likes. I did get email notifications for the new follow and likes.
  I tried Explorer9 and now I am here through google chrome. Just to see if google worked. No different.
  I did have to change some of the settings in discussion last week. I had 70 spams that turned the box yellow.
  I changed the settings back to allow postings from previous posters.
  I dont know if I clicked the wrong thing.

  I tried a test. I liked my own post. The notifications box turned yellow now. I left a comment. That didnt turn yellow. Maybe because I commented on my own post?
  Maybe its working and I clicked a wrong setting?
