Notifications of new followers

@dawndenton
Have you read and acted on the comment I made above at the top of this thread?
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/notifications-of-new-followers?replies=20#post-859095 -
Yes. I have followed all the suggestions, and re-set my emails under ‘Discussions’. Still no emails about new followers.
-
Thanks for the response. I’m assuming you are referring to the blog linked to your username. If that’s not the correct one please post the URL for us.
P.S. This thread is flagged for Staff attention. -

Yes, still experiencing it. (Thank you for keeping track of me!) Going into the stats just now showed me that I got a new follower two days ago, and I didn’t get an email about it.
There’s been no new Staff help offered on my problem for the last five days. I even haven’t gotten e-mail notices of all the above followup posts since mine of April 9. But I still do get email notices of comments on my blog, so @wordpress.com is not blocked on my system.
If macmanx doesn’t have any further ideas, might there be someone more senior on the Staff who could step in at this point? (And who, hopefully, will read the entire thread so as not to re-suggest that I do all the things I’ve already done several times over.)
-
The other day someone told me they followed me and I still haven’t recieved an email. I don’t have enough followers to not worry about losing them!
I haven’t changed anything in my settings, only have the one email address and seem to get all other notifications properly (although now I wonder…). -
I’m sorry I can’t help except to suggest they you whitelist email from @wordpress.com in your email client. I have flagged this thread for Staff attention.
-
Thanks for signing up! I did NOT receive the email about you, though when I went into my stats just now I saw you there.
No apology needed from you — you’ve been very helpful to me in the past, as clearly you are to many other bloggers, and I appreciate it.
Supererogatory as it is, I have whitelisted the entire wordpress domain.

I am having the same problem. My blog is only a week old and my stats tell me I have 10 followers, but I am not being notified by email. I have done all the things suggested above, including checking spam and checking I have the right box ticked in my settings. I have checked these things several times. Not once have I had an email advising me of a new subscriber. I did put this problem on the forums yesterday but no one replied. I was going to contact ‘Support” but just found out they only respond to people with upgrades….very disappointing. I did not know that when I chose this site for my blog. I would like this problem solved? (Please don’t tell me to check my spam again!)
-
I’ve signed up as a follower of your blog. Did you get the notification email?
-
Thankyou for doing that, but no I did not receive any notification email. This is very frustrating.
-
Oh, sorry, greatsouthland — my last message was in response to an earlier posting here by shoreacres. It’s her blog that I signed up for, not yours — at least, not yet!
-
@shoreacres Nope, didnt receive a notification of you following. So it seems it is still a problem….
-
Looks like WordPress has abandoned us. It’s a week and a half since the last useless, repetitive suggestion made by “Staff,” implying that it’s our fault if we’re not getting the e-mails. They still won’t admit the problem is theirs, and if they’re trying to do anything about it, they’re sure keeping it a tight secret. Sigh.
-
I’m willing to help, but would you please try adding @wordpress.com to your email’s whitelist?
Just because you receive some email from WordPress does not mean that other emails won’t be considered spammy enough to delete on site. Whitelisting is the only way to prevent this and to rule this out as a possibility.

You may have to do it again. Gmail, for instance, just started sending automated emails from WordPress.com to spam, although it didn’t before.
