Notifications of new posts are not being sent to subscribers

Hello! I think there might be a bug with wordpress’ notifications of new posts. Suddenly, ever since September 14, my subscribers haven’t been receiving notifications of new posts in their email or app. The same thing seem to be happening to another WP site owner. Please take a look and advise, thank you.

Update: some subscribers received notifications as per normal, but some are no longer receiving them even though they have always received it.

Hi @dawnberlitz167, could you share the emails of a few subscribers who are having trouble? They’ll be redacted from public view and staff can use those to look up any issues. Thanks in advance!

(email visible only to moderators and staff) & (email visible only to moderators and staff) – Still receives notifs/emails from some sites, but overall much lesser the past 2 weeks than expected.
(email visible only to moderators and staff) – She started receiving notifs/emails from my site after she resubscribed. While digging around the WP app, she noticed this (see picture below).

According to this subscriber, some sites have this part toggled off but she still received notifications of their post anyway.
From what I see, I believe my site is not the only one experiencing this issue. I hope the information I provided helps. If I receive more feedback, I will let you know. Thanks for looking into this!

Hi @dawnberlitz167, the first user you mentioned is actually getting a ton of email about your site, with at least 50 notifications since October 1. New post notifications are going out, but I wonder if they’re getting filtered by their mail provider. They have “Email me new comments” toggled here and may want to reconsider whether they want to use that option. If they definitely want to get all of those emails, they’ll want to be sure to check their spam folders and make sure they’re marking those as not spam if needed.
The second user is not currently subscribed by email. They can go here, tap the settings icon (it looks like a slider control) and toggle Email.

If she’d like to make a new thread here we can investigate that for her. She’ll want it toggled on anytime she wants to receive email about new posts. I hope this helps!

Thank you for looking into this. The second user ((email visible only to moderators and staff)) is subscribed to the site and usually receives notifications of new posts in the app, but recently haven’t been receiving as much. Does the app notifications work the same as the email notifications? Apologies for the mix-up in the earlier response.

@dawnberlitz167 if they aren’t getting “bell” notifications, I’d have them confirm whether that’s on the web or only in the app.
If they’re only having trouble in the app, they’ll want to check their phone settings, and can contact app support for help if needed. There’s an option to get in touch under their profile icon.
If they’re having trouble in the web and in the app, they’ll want to reach out here with more details (reiterating that they aren’t getting notifications on the web or in the app, whether it’s happening with just your site or all sites, etc).
