Notifications on Post Changes.

I would like to do a few corrections on a number of posts already posted (50). I do not want to annoy people with unnecessary E-Mail notifications of the posts that have been changed. Is there a way to disable the notification process for a while?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The post when first published goes out on your RSS feed but the edited posts do not. Also note that your subscribers may choose how frequently they receive updates. When readers subscribe, they’ll get an email update (either immediately, daily, or weekly, depending on the frequency they choose) when you publish new posts on your blog. http://en.support.wordpress.com/blog-subscriptions/

I forgot to say there is no ability to disable the RSS feed. We can reduce it to displaying only 1 post and we can reduce the display to “Summary” here > Settings > Reading. You can temporarily set the blog to “private” do your editing and then change blog visibility back to “public”. http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/
