Notifications tab is not working

    Hello,

    Just a minor thing but an annoying one. The Notifications tab in my admin bar is no longer working. While the star, bar chart, or comment icon appears, clicking on it gives me a blanks screen that spins indefinitely. It’s happening regardless of which browser or tablet I use.

    Hi there. Have you tried resetting your modem/router? I’ve experienced this issue if my connection was slow in the past.

    Something that usually fixes this is clearing the browser cache and cookies, but as you have the problem across different browsers it might not be related. Still worth a try, though. http://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/

    Lastly, make sure your flash player is updated. There are currently some problems with Flash player causing some browsers to block it automatically. That might be part of the problem: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

    Hi there,

    Sadly no luck. I’ve deleted cookies, purged caches, reinstalled Flash (third time this week!) and made sure the browsers allow Flash on wp.com.

    I’m not sure resetting my router would do anything as this is the only content element on any site I deal with which is currently having this problem.

    Guess I’ll just learn to live without it!

    Yeah, I’ve also just completed my third Flash update since Friday :-D I’m not sure if that interface uses Flash or not, but it was worth a shot.

    I’ll tag this thread for staff in case this is a bug on WordPress.com’s end or in case they have another suggestion. Please be patient while waiting for their response.

    Meanwhile, can you please let us know on which types of devices, operating systems and browsers you’re having this problem, and what type of internet connection you use, in case any of that can help them track down the problem.

    It’s happening on Firefox, IE, and Chrome on my Windows 7 laptop, and Firefox on my Windows 8 tablet. It’s happening wherever I’m connected by Wifi (home, library, etc.)

    We have had a few other reports of this but are unable to find a common cause. I have reported it to our developers to take a look.
