Notify followers of edited posts

Hi there,
I know that when you post something new your followers get a notification via e-mail. My question though is if there’s a way of notifying them whenever I edit an already published post to add new content.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello there,
See here please:Emails are only sent to subscribers when a post is originally published.
RSS is pulled not pushed (with the except of PubSubHub). An edit will indeed show up when the feed is polled again after a change. How that shows up exactly will vary by feed reader client. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/how-not-to-send-emails-when-posts-update?replies=18#post-556462

castellonenc,
If I make a major change on a recent post, I will create a new post linking to the old one or just make note of it (with link) in a future post. This creates a little clutter, but it lets people know if I’ve updated something. Sometimes I will delete that post later, if I remember, but that doesn’t always happen. :)

Thats one approach you can use. Another one is to make any post you edited into a sticky post so its the top post on the site when visitors click in. http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-visibility/#sticky-posts -
Many of the followers I would want to know about any changes would be those who follow by email. If they come to my blog, it is to the post linked in the email, rather than to the whole site. In cases, where I do not think it’s important they see the changes, a sticky post is a good idea. I had not thought of that.

One could also post manually to Twitter, Facebook, etc. to notify their followers of updated content.

Only if you use those services. :) Blogging is as close to social media as I get. But this could be a good option for castellonenc.
