Just wanted to know whether there is a way that subscribers get notified when an existing post is updated w/o installing plugins?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there!

I’m afraid there’s no inbuilt way of doing this, however, there are some plugins that would allow you to send notifications when a post has been modified. This article talks a bit more about some of them: https://www.wpbeginner.com/plugins/how-to-get-email-notification-for-post-changes-in-wordpress/.

To be able to use plugins on WordPress.com, you would need to upgrade to plan Business. The Business plan will include credit for a free custom domain for the first year; the removal of all WordPress.com ads; and access to our live chat support 24/7. It also provides the ability to use SEO and analytic tools; manage automated back-ups and options for an activity rewind, and an increased maximum of 200 GB for media storage.

As an alternative, you can also opt for creating a custom Newsletter where you’d notify your readers about anything you find relevant:

Is there any specific reason why you’re looking for this feature? Are you updating your posts very often?

@staff-mckluskey thanks for your response, I will check out the Newsletter feature.

I have a few posts that I have created in this ‘continuing’ category, where they are updated based on new research.
