Notify subscribers of a post when it gets updated

Just wanted to know whether there is a way that subscribers get notified when an existing post is updated w/o installing plugins?

I’m afraid there’s no inbuilt way of doing this, however, there are some plugins that would allow you to send notifications when a post has been modified. I have a few posts that I have created in this ‘continuing’ category, where they are updated based on new research.
