  How do I create an email list so when I post a blog my friends will know?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  You can’t. Subscriptions to WordPress.com blogs are strictly opt-in only and we cannot send auto-notifications to our own mailing lists as that would be considered spam and against the law in several countries, even if you’re only sending it to your friends.

  What you can do is send email invitations to people. If they then accept the invitation they will be notified of all your new posts. As long as your blog is set to public they won’t need to register WordPress.com username accounts to accept the invitation.

  You can invite people via Users ->Invite New in the dashboard. The system will only allow you to invite ten people at a time – this is an anti-spam precaution – but there is no total limit on the number of people you can invite. http://en.support.wordpress.com/adding-users/#invite-people-to-follow-your-blog
