  How can I ensure that subscribers receive emails when I post new blogs?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Are you talking about people who have already signed up to “follow” your blog? Or are you asking how a random person could sign up to receive email alerts when a new post is published?

  Thanks rootjosh. These people have already signed up to follow my blog as subscribers. I myself signed up so I could be sure that email notifications were going out but nothing happens.

  I’m sorry to hear that you are having trouble. However, http://breaduponthewatersasia.com/ is a self-hosted WordPress.org blog, which we really can’t help with.

  To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities: http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

  I checked http://breaduponthewatersasia.com/ and it looks to me like you are using the Jetpack plugin and the Jetpack Blog Subscriptions widget. Those emails to in fact go through WordPress.com servers, however, the best place to ask questions about Jetpack features is at http://jetpack.me/contact-support/

  In your case, note that you should make sure to subscribe using an email address other than the post author email address for your tests. If you’ve done that and you’re still having trouble, it would help if you included information such as a specific post that you expected to receive an email for but didn’t, the email address you subscribed with, and a note about whether you’ve made sure to check your mail’s spam folder in case it was filed there by mistake. In my experience, most cases where I’ve seen issues with email not being received, it has been something on the client email program or the receiver’s email provider spam or filter settings that is catching the email. It can be tough to track down, so make sure you’re testing with a separate email and you’ve checked your local filter settings to the best of your ability before continuing on to Jetpack support.
