Novice: I need a wide page / how to cancel right-hand column
-
Hi all,
I am an absolute WP novice. I am have just started setting up a simple site using the WP online tools (http://<myname>.wordpress.com/wp-admin) to create the website.
My first little problem is that I need one of my site pages to be a *wide* page, since I need to insert a *wide* table. See: http://avrahammakeler.wordpress.com/word-to-webhelp-hatt-comparison-matrix/
However, I see that default WP pages seem to have a default width for content, and my table columns beyond that (to the right) have become compressed and right-cropped.
I note that at the right of the content area is a menu column containing:
Recent Posts | Categories | Archives
How can I cancel this right-hand column *for this page only*, which I assume will then free up the whole page-width for my own use?
TIA
avraham

Btw, I hope I have sent this question to the right forum category.
If not, my apologies and can somebody please show me the way…-avraham

Yep – I think I posted this to the wrong forum. If the admin would delete this, my thanks.
I will post it again on Support. Hope nobody minds.

You must use one of the (few) themes that allow you to set a full-width, no sidebar, page – see here:
