  I have no idea what I’m doing, I want to put my own logo and cover picture on my home page but have no idea how to go about it. Please answer in simple terms!!

  Hi there!

  You can add both your own logo and header image through the Customizer. Go to My Sites → Themes and click on Customize. You will find your self in the Customizer. There, you can upload your logo in Site Identity and your header image in Header Image.

  To add Media (pictures, videos, audio) to your site please follow the instruction in this support page:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/add-media/
