Now that I have had to have a new password, I can't insert images. Why not?!

  Since I have had to re-set my password (this may be irrelevant, but that’s when it started), whenever I compose a new blog post, I try to insert an image and the software ‘hangs’. The first time it did it, I had written the text one day, and saved it as a draft, and tried to complete it with images the next day, and it wouldn’t show the image in the text window (just a grey box with a red cross in the top left corner of the image box placeholder). I know that this can be a problem with WordPress, when you don’t finish a blog post all at the same time. But now, when I try to write *any* post, it won’t insert any images – it just takes forever to try to download the image, but doesn’t manage it.

  I tested adding an image to a draft post and the images work inside drafts in my test, so next we should try to sort out similarities between you and others who have mentioned this issue.
